From the outset of the project, GSBelts was selected to develop and supply the Grenadier’s harness systems, bringing our expertise in high-performance restraint solutions. What is the INEOS Grenadier?

The INEOS Grenadier is a pure all-rounder, created with a clear mission: to offer a robust, functional workhorse without unnecessary frills. Inspired by the spirit of the legendary Land Rover Defender, the Grenadier is designed to be tough, reliable, and ready to tackle the toughest terrain—from the Scottish Highlands to the African desert.

Developed by INEOS Automotive, a division of the petrochemical giant INEOS Group, the vehicle combines German engineering with a practical British approach. And in this ambitious balance between tradition and technology, GSBelts played a key role.

The Challenge: Safety and durability without compromise

For a vehicle designed to withstand extreme conditions, harnesses and restraint systems must be up to the task. The challenge was to design harnesses that:

• They comply with the strictest European and global safety regulations.

• They will withstand wear, vibrations and extreme weather conditions.

• They were adaptable to different versions of the vehicle (civil, fleets, special services).

• They will integrate perfectly into the interior design, without sacrificing functionality or aesthetics.

Our engineering team was deeply involved in the project from the initial stages of development. Thanks to close collaboration with the INEOS Automotive design team, we were able to tailor our products to the exact requirements of each version of the Grenadier.

Our solution

At GSBelts, we design and manufacture custom harness systems, utilizing high-performance materials and applying precise manufacturing techniques to ensure durability, strength, and comfort.

Key elements of our solution include:

• High tenacity polyester tapes with UV coating and abrasion resistance.

• Buckles and locking mechanisms certified under ECE R16 and FMVSS regulations.

• Modular configurations allow the same system to be adapted to different vehicle variants, reducing complexity and logistical costs.

• Exhaustive traceability and quality control processes are essential for industrial-scale production.

Thanks to our flexibility and responsiveness, we were able to quickly adjust the design to project changes, meeting all deadlines without compromising quality.
