GSB is a leading custom seat belt and harness manufacturer specialized in designing, developing and manufacturing automotive & non-automotive safety restraint systems.
GSB is a newly created brand as a result of the evolution of GWR, a well-established company in the automotive industry with over 50 years of history. Luis Capella, the founder of GWR, was a Formula car racer who decided to start his own safety restrain manufacturing company after working for the top name companies in the industry.
Our products are featured in more than 200 vehicle models produced by over 100 well-diversified customers worldwide: coaches, trucks, vans, military vehicles, motorhomes, off-road vehicles and many more.
We provide safety systems for a wide variety of applications, from seat belts for the automotive industry to harness restraint systems for wheelchairs and the medical industry.
GSB’s engineering team designs seat belts and complete safety systems for newer vehicles on the market. Our OEM customers are looking for a competitive edge with their new products, so we have engineered and patented solutions that enhance the end user’s experience and satisfaction. Designing the seats and seat belts together is necessary to create the best final product that will maximize the occupant’s safety and comfort. GSB’s History
GSB is the result of the evolution of GWR, founded in 1982 by Luis Capella, a Formula car racer who started competing in Formula Racing and rallies in the 1970s. After working over a decade for leading seal belt manufacturer companies such as Klippan, Bendix (now Jayson) and Autoliv (where he became General Manager), he decided to start his own safety restraint manufacturing company serving those clients that these big leading seat belts manufacturers couldn’t help.
Luis Capella begins competing in Formula Racing and rallies, while working for Klippan, Bendix (now Joyson/Key Safety Systems) and Autoliv.
Starts producing safety restraints for Nissan and develops and produces an extended line of seat belts for passenger car rear seats, and buses.
Starts manufacturing racing harnesses, seat belts, and wheelchair occupant restraints.
Partnership with Autoliv for supplies and dynamic crash testing. First homologation test completed with Applus IDIADA.
Begins supplying seat belts to Suzuki.
Starts producing seat belts for low production vehicles, and including electric cars.
Expands internationally, increases our product lines, and licenses the patent for retractors in the backs of seats.
International expansions with a new factory in the USA.
Partnership with Hypercar manufacturers.
During the Covid19 pandemic, the company starts manufacturing of PPE gowns and seat belts for first responders vehicles.
New product BELT BOX, the most innovative mobility restraint system.
GSB is born as a rebranding and global expansion.
